New Land Rover Certified Pre-Owned Program Extends Coverage

Land Rover has just made vehicle ownership a little easier for its consumer by offering a new Land Rover Select Certified Pre-Owned program that significantly increases its warranty coverage.

The new CPO program takes the structure of the Jaguar Select Certified Pre-Owned program, offering six years or 100,000 miles of coverage, up from the previous five year, 72,000 mile agreement. News of Land Rover’s CPO program is sure to delight both dealers and consumers alike. Given Land Rover’s notorious propensity for mechanical failure, it was vital that the company provide prospective customers with some insurance on their investment.

“It’s a luxury brand, and with a luxury brand you need the right type of CPO program that allows that benefit for not only the dealer to certify and stand behind it, not only the manufacturer but also the consumer, to know that we stand behind that product on time and mileage,” said Michael Ashton, National Remarketing Manager, Jaguar Land Rover North America.

An updated 150-point vehicle inspection checklist sees improvements to the engine, HVAC system, electrical system and the interior and exterior, ensuring Land Rover CPO customers receive the finest used vehicles available. The new program will also feature broader vehicle component coverage (e.g. suspension and air bag parts). “In fact, it’s all inclusive with a list of items that are excluded instead of having it the other way around,” notes Ashton.

It will not be east to maintain large inventory of CPO-quality Rovers with such strict inspections requirements. To that end, dealerships have been monitoring the lifespan of lease agreements and contacting customers at the end of each contract in an effort to keep Rovers within their dealer franchise.

The new Land Rover Select Certified Pre-Owned program goes into effect Saturday, September 30.
