Land Rover's iconic dealer-against-dealer skills competition, TReK, returned for its fourth modern edition this year, with a qualifying event held in October and the finals over last weekend's Destination Defender event. A total of 109 Land Rover dealers from across the United States and Canada competed in one-day waves, testing their off-road, problem-solving, and team skills. The Texas showdown was the return of a 27-year tradition, dating back to the first TReK in 1996.

Owners of the famous Series I Land Rovers that climb the Himalayan mountain of Sandakphu in India are going to the government of the state of West Bengal to get support to keep their vintage vehicles on the road. After decades of plying the high peaks at the roof of the world, the Land Rovers are tired, and the hope is that becoming an official piece of national heritage will help direct money and tourists their way to keep the vehicles on the road.

The finalists of the 2023 Defender Service Awards have been announced, with the five finalists in each of five categories announced, and a sixth category of past nominees who are eligible now for a second chance. After a public vote, six organizations in the USA and Canada will get a custom-equipped Defender 130 to further their cause. Voting is open from September 15 to October 4, with the finalists to be announced at a banquet at Destination Defender in Texas on November 11.

On the first anniversary of the passing of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, JLR held a special parade of Land Rovers at the Goodwood Revival in England. Each of the vehicles on show was tied to the late Queen and the Royal Family, with everything from Royal Review Series vehicles to her beloved 2009 Range Rover.
