This is a Land Rover Genuine upper tailgate latch for the LR3 and LR4 that will help you get your tailgate working again.

How to fix the upper tailgate when it becomes stuck from the outside on the Land Rover LR3 2005 - 2009 or LR4 2010 - 2013.

We offer a complete, convenient kit # TLRK for this that includes a new tailgate latch, tailgate actuator, and moisture shield (AKA water shredder or water deflector.)
A common problem with Land Rover LR3s, is where you can not open your upper tailgate.
Watch our Land Rover Master Technician, Doug, show you how to gain access to the lower tailgate actuator cable.
Then, you can get the tailgate open in order to replace the failed actuator and latch cable, part #s FUG500010G and LR017470G.
You will also want to replace the moisture shield part part # EOT500013G.

My back hatch stopped working suddenly about two years ago. I was so disappointed and to the point of selling the LR3 all together. But I thought I would try having the part replaced to see if it would fix it... and it did!! Price was much better than having Land Rover buy it or any mechanic buy it. If you have someone who is mechanically inclined they should be able to fix it for a fraction of the cost that Land Rover or a Mechanic would charge.
