Installation of Rear Access Ladder On Discovery Series IIHi. It's Jim at Atlantic British. This morning we're going to tell you about installing a ladder on the back of a Disco 2 or a Disco 1. It's kind of a neat thing to have on there. If you also have a roof rack on the back end, you can climb up there to put stuff on it. It's a very simple installation. The big thing you got to remember about it is sliding the ladder on the edge of the door. You have to make sure you get on the edge here and just slide it over. A lot of people get that messed up and they don't get it in the right place. Slide it in here. Then what you're going to do is get up here and mark 1 of the holes. Drill 1 hole. Put 1 screw in. Then stand back and check it out to make sure it's straight. Once you get it where you want it, drill the second hole and then continue on to the other 2 on the bottom. And that's about all there is to installing this ladder. A good thing to remember when you drill the holes - Get some tough up paint to put in the hole so it doesn't rust.
