I have a 1959 Series II, which had most all of the instrumentation and wiring removed, so it's a total rebuild. The Speedometer is a later model, and this seems to be the correct one. I've done some casual dry-fitting, and it seems a good match, but until it's installed and attached to a running vehicle, I'll keep my fingers crossed and will review later, as a follow-up.

Lived without a speedo for a few years after getting my 72 SIII on the road. Finally I got a cable, and while I was installing it, the dash end of the cable slipped, and as those cables are springy, it flexed over and hit something on the way down - not hard, but - hard enough to snap the plastic retainer tab off that end. So then I lived without one for a few more years (smartphone makes an accurate and feature-rich (HUD!) speedo). But this one came with a nifty plastic cap, and while I had now learned my lesson and was unlikely to let go of the cable, if I had, it would have been protected until the last step, right before which, I removed that cap.
