Your A/C Blower Motor Resistor controls the speed of the blower motor and the force of the airflow out of the dash vents. You select the level from your dash instrument controls, but this resistor is what enables those controls and regulates the power to the blower motor.
This Atlantic British exclusive design is actually an improvement over the genuine resistor!
It features a thermal-sink aluminum mounting plate that dissipates circuit heat effectively. The genuine version required air cooling available only when the vehicle was moving - sitting idle for any length of time with the heat or A/C on caused the genuine resistor to overheat and fail.
We recommend replacing this resistor when replacing your heater blower motor or heater blower motor and heater core - see our kits STC250K, 8844 and 8844K for more information.
I did this along with the heater core/blower motor kit. So glad. Everything worked great. Getting the screws lined up in that tight space on the cowl is challenging but with some patience it all lined up. I used thread locker so I'd never have to do it again. These are quality resistors that should outlive the vehicle compared to the junk they replaced.

Installation was fairly straight forward, BUT they need to change the Phillips screws for hex head with a fixed washer. The right side screw for the bracket is a bugger to get to at best with many dropping of the washer. gave up and put some loctite on it.
Time will tell if it lasts as long as the factory one?
And no mention of the big cable tie holding the red plug to the main harness that needs careful cutting off as you are working blind. But can be done thou the (cup holder) I mean the round top dash vent.

The one and only proper solution when your stock blower motor resistor fails (and it will). Once this part is installed, you'll have three fan speeds for heat and AC again and you'll be shocked how much faster than before they will be! Actually FEEL the air coming out of the vents again like when your RRC was now. Instructions provided are easy to follow and you don't have to take your dash apart to install this item if you don't want to. If you're doing a heater core replacement, it's the perfect time to replace this item as well.
