The gasket is asymmetric and there is a raised area for the gasket on the supplied device. It is not at all apparent how the metallic gasket should be installed. I installed it with the slightly concave side of the gasket towards the raised area on the throttle body heater and so far it seems to be working fine. It would save a bit of angst if the kit included instructions even if it were a statement that the gasket can be installed either way.
