I don't think this is a Rover Parts quality issue but more a a poor Land Rover design problem like many other things in LRs. The cap and filler neck are greatly susceptible to thermal expansion. Depending on the time of day I fill up the tank removing and installing the cap is a one-handed care-free task or a double-handed fight. Price is decent. The thread pitch is odd enough that a generic cap won't do. I hope newer LR caps are much improved
