Engine misfires on early Land Rover Discovery I, Defender 90, and Range Rover P38 vehicles with GEMS engines are a pervasive service issue.
Before you start trialing replacement parts in attempts to fix misfires, it's best to first determine if your engine's reluctor ring teeth are out of tolerance and need spacing correction (this is often the cause of misfires and the diagnostic codes they trigger on these vehicles.)
In the past, Land Rover dealer technicians had a special Reluctor Ring Teeth Alignment Tool to correct misaligned teeth, but Land Rover ceased the production of this tool years ago.
Fear not, our tool is a faithful recreation of the original tool and it will help you solve those pesky misfire issues!
The tool was designed and manufactured to original specification by a Land Rover Master Technician.
