Southdown Steering Guard for Range Rover Classic & Discovery

Hardware Included:
10 - 1/2" x 1" Button Heads
1 - 1/2" x 4 1/2" Hex Head
2 - 1/2" SAE Washers
11 - 1/2" Nuts
Tools Needed:
14mm, 18mm, 3/4" sockets
5/16" hex wrench
Loosen front bumper hardware. Remove lower bumper nuts/bolts.
If you have fitted an aftermarket bumper, there MAY be some interference with the trailing edge of the bumper with the skid plate. Some grinding or nibbling may be necessary on a case by case basis.
Loosen bolts (left side of vehicle) holding panhard rod bracket to chassis. Withdraw the LOWER of the two bolts. The right hand side of the vehicle has similar holes which are unused on LHD vehicles.
Replace lower front bumper bolts through steering guard brackets and bumper.
Install new bolt and nut (supplied in kit) through right side steering guard bracket hole into unused chassis hole on vehicle�s right side.
Tighten all hardware.
Periodically check fasteners for tightness and integrity. This applies particularly during post 4-wheeling inspections. Wash out any accumulated debris/dirt as soon as possible.
Occasionally it is recommended to wipe the surface of the guard with a light oil to help maintain the appearance and to lubricate fasteners.
