Maintenance - Pollen Filter Replacement
Applies To:
Range Rover 4.0/4.6 | '95-'02

Land Rover recommends pollen filters be replaced every 15,000 miles or sooner in very dirty or dusty conditions. There are (2) pollen filters in Range Rover 4.0/4.6 vehicles.
To change pollen filters:
1. Open hood and find the two covers on each end of the cowl at the lower edge of the wind screen. They are held on by two Phillips screws.
2. Remove the screws and cover. Pull the filters out and install new ones. Refit covers and screws.
Note: If your filters are very dirty, inspect the two blower relays located in the right front corner of the under hood fuse box. If these look burnt, replace them. The relays are in positions RL6 and RL7. They should be replaced with part # YWB10012L.
Or, if you find that your relays have failed check the pollen filters. When the filters get clogged they can overload the blower motors.
