Imagine a Range Rover Sport with a ZF 8-speed automatic that can shift from fuel to electric and back again. Wider use of aluminum will keep the weight down, and you could go up to twenty miles in the city on electric power alone. This is important, as many cities in the EU are planning on banning vehicles that contribute to smog, which will obviously affect sales of vehicles that do. Once the engineers put the finishing touches on the diesel, expect a gas version to follow soon, no doubt to be also available in the LR4 and likely in the new LRX.
