This blog might set the record for “fewest readers” based on the title alone, but here it goes anyway. We have compiled a list of a few of the features and interesting (embarrassing?) facts about the new vehicle, and some insight into the thought process of its designers, namely, Victoria Beckham.
Designing the special edition Evoque was a task which Beckham took seriously:
“The Land Rover design team and I worked together to create mood boards that reflected my love of timeless and classic design, drawing inspiration from yachts, luxury jets and classic cars.”
So what sort of Range Rover does this amalgamation of elite iconography and “mood boards” produce? Well that depends who you ask. A quick rundown of features:
Features
- Hand-Painted Matte Finish
- Rose Gold Grill Accents
- Vintage Leather Seats
- Black Forged Alloy Wheels
- Rose Gold Plated Interior Accents with Black Lacquer
- Mohair Carpeting
- Hand-Stitched Owners Manual Wallet
- Victoria Beckham Autographed Owners Manual
What’s with all the rose gold you ask? When Victoria Beckham and Gerry McGovern first met to spitball ideas for the new Evoque, Beckham came to the meeting wearing a large, rose gold men’s watch.
“I was struck by the juxtaposition of the masculine watch on a very elegant, feminine wrist.”
Suffice to say the "juxtaposition" took Gerry’s breath away, and set the wheels in motion for a special edition Evoque that would “introduce a softer touch to the bold, assertive exterior color scheme”
For all you snickering Rover diehards, Victoria Beckham insists the car maintains its masculinity and she was very concerned about designing a vehicle that soccer star husband David Beckham would be “proud” to drive in.
Interested in buying a Victoria Beckham Range Rover Evoque? Only 200 will be sold worldwide at a price of $129,000 so you better act fast. And, U.S. buyers might as well forget about it – only 5 Posh Rovers will reach our shores. Maybe Rover knows no one here wants them?
