The sunshine is pouring down and we know you are itching to get out to some Rover rallies and shows this summer! Even though a few big rallies have already passed (like the Arizona Land Rover Rally), we’ve put together a list of some of our favorite rallies happening through the rest of the summer from around the nation so that you don’t miss out this season!
Western Washington All British Field Meet: OK, technically this isn’t an exclusive event for Rovers… but it certainly includes them! The Puget Sound British Automotive Association hosts this amazing rally on the grounds of Bellevue College just outside Seattle, Washington. The event has been a popular one since its birth in 1988, and thousands of people attend every year. British car enthusiasts show up from all over the Northwest to showcase their cars and maybe even win a people’s choice award in their category.
This year the Western Washington Meet will be held on Saturday, July 23, starting at 8am and on through the night, complete with Award presentations and a cocktail party! Yum. If you live in the area, check it out.
Portland All British Field Meet: If you’re into those British imports, but live a tad further south, there’s also an All British Field Meet going on outside of Portland over Labor Day weekend!
ROAV Summer Rally at Rausch Creek: The Rover Owner’s Association of Virginia (ROAV) is putting on a rally at Rausch Creek Offroad Park http://rauschcreekoffroadpark.com/ in Tremont, PA this year from July 29-31. The park is really cool—they’ve got more than 30 miles of trail on lots of different terrain. Their rock crawling trails are unmatched in difficulty and they even have a man-made concrete/all natural rock crawling course.
Euro Classic Car Show: Alright, technically this one isn’t “around the nation” since it’s in Canada, but close enough. Held at the University of British Columbia’s Botanical Gardens (UBCBG) in Vancouver, this inaugural show will be quite the event. Starting Friday, August 19th, there will be a night reception and silent auction. Euro food delicacies and a Euro bandstand will accompany the Euro cars. As the whole show is in the Botanical Gardens, you’ll get to enjoy summer greenery AND your favorite kinds of cars.
Land Rover National Rally: The most important of ALL rallies, however, falls on August 2-6. The LRNR has a 23 year history and this year will be held among the mountains of the beautiful Breckenridge, Colorado. It’s been held in various locations all over Colorado and Utah’s mountainous landscapes perfect for off-road challenges and wonderful views. Over the 5 day event, the Solihull Society will host training classes, cocktail parties, trail events, and several raffles. Don’t miss this one if you love Land Rovers and Rallies.
So, there you have it. If you’re looking to spend a few days in the sun checking out Landies and maybe even off-roading, try and make it to one of these events.
