The 2008 Range Rover Sport won in the Ultra Luxury SUV segment for its value within the segment and unstoppable ability in the snow.
Members of the New England Motor Press Association (NEMPA) presented Land Rover North America with a Winter Vehicle Award in the Ultra Luxury SUV segment for the 2008 Land Rover Range Rover Sport on March 12.
Journalists drove around a crowded parking lot, hopping from vehicle to vehicle to evaluate the specific winter driving capabilities of the contestants; the only criteria for which was to have power to all four wheels. Vehicles from many different manufacturers were evaluated, and one clear winner rose to the top of the snowbank. The 2008 Range Rover Sport.
“We are pleased to be awarded as the winter vehicle of choice in such a competitive segment,” said Chris Marchand, executive vice president, marketing and sales, Land Rover North America. “It's especially gratifying that the Range Rover Sport, a vehicle known more for its on-road performance and touring strengths, has taken honors as an SUV with exceptional winter driving attributes. It is a true Land Rover.”
