Land Rover and the NHTSA have issued a series of recalls for 2015 model-year Land Rovers. Some of the recalls affect earlier models as well.
As a service to owners of these vehicles, we have consolidated the information here, with a link to the NHTSA launch page for 2015 Land Rover recalls and service bulletins.
Naturally, these recalls will be announced to owners through the dealer network.
The recalls so far are as follows:
A recall of 2010-2015 LR2 and 2012-2013 Range Rover Evoque models for a defect in the airbag control system that may result in the passenger airbag being partially or completely disabled.
A recall of 2015 Land Rover Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and LR4 vehicles for a problem with lug nuts that may crack and fall off, creating the potential for a wheel to come off of the vehicle while underway. Land Rover will provide and install new lug nuts.
A recall of exactly one model year 2015 Range Rover Sport vehicle manufactured November 16, 2014, and one 2015 LR4 vehicle manufactured November 11, 2014 for improperly torqued connecting rod bolts that may cause the engine to seize. Land Rover will replace the engines in both vehicles. Yes, you read that correctly, this recall affects two actual vehicles. A testament to the improvements in quality control that have occurred at Land Rover over the last decade.
A recall of model year 2013-2014 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles manufactured August 16, 2012, to January 8, 2014, and 2014-2015 Land Rover Range Rover Sport vehicles manufactured May 7, 2013, to February 12, 2015. The recall addresses an issue with a vacuum line for the brake assist boosting system. The line may have been routed incorrectly, causing wear which could result in a hole. This would cause a complete loss of power brake assist which would result in an increase in the effort and distance required to stop the vehicle.
These and other recalls can be checked by entering the VIN of your vehicle into the NHTSA site to see if any recalls apply to your Land Rover.
