Land Rover has big plans for expanding their presence in markets like China, India and Brazil, which explains why the company has established assembly plants in these countries with the hopes of streamlining production and increasing sales volume.
Assembly plants make it easy for Land Rover to meet demand in growing markets while avoiding higher taxes and fees that are associated with shipping entire vehicles. Each truck is manufactured in the UK and then shipped in pieces to the appropriate assembly plant. Land Rover's newest plant is located outside of Rio de Janeiro and should enjoy a 24,000 vehicle production capacity when completed.
We can expect these plants to be filled with new Discovery Sport models as Land Rover projects the truck to be a strong global seller.
