Diesel Land Rover vehicles have enjoyed immense popularity across the globe for about as long as the brand has been alive. Unfortunately for U.S. enthusiasts, diesel engines are typically in violation of our stricter emissions standards and therefore not available to own. Diesel engines have experienced a surge in popularity in the U.S. in recent years as gas prices have risen and it appears that Land Rover has taken notice. Parent company Jaguar Land Rover has plans to send a diesel version of Jaguar XE sedan to the States, which may pave the way for Rover models in the near future.
Few details are available at the moment, but reports are suggesting that a diesel Evoque may be in the mix in the next few years or so.Stay tuned.
