1. Open rear hatch window and tailgate and locate the small access panel in right rear corner of load space area.
2. Open access panel and locate white trailer plug with five wires attached to it. This plug connects to plug on trailer wiring box enclosed (Note: For old-style device--see front label on wiring box for plug side noted with arrow and 'Tow Vehicle'.) You will connect this plug to the box later.
3. Inside access panel, locate 2" grommet on the floor. The grommet is alongside a support beam. Remove grommet. Using scissors or a razor knife, cut a slot in the grommet to hold the trailer conversion box wiring.
Grommet and grommet hole located in floor behind access panel next to support beam.
Cut slot from center to edge of grommet.
4. Feed the trailer end wires and plug of wiring converter box (flat plug) through the grommet hole in floor of the access panel. Route the wiring along undercarriage to the trailer hitch. Using supplied nylon ties, secure wiring behind the lower lip of the rear bumper with nylon ties. Make sure you position the wiring away from the end of the exhaust tail pipe, however, wires can be secured to the top of the exhaust hanger. NOTE: some vehicle models do not have pre-drilled holes in the lower lip of the rear bumper. If this is the case, you will need to drill holes.
Secure wires behind lip of bumper by tightening to bumper with supplied nylon ties threaded through holes in bumper lip.
