Here's one for the women: It seems Land Rover is introducing a Women's panel at the product development stage to make sure that women's wants and needs are accommodated and integrated into future Land Rover vehicles. (Is this what happened over at VW, resulting in the little vase thingy on the dash?)
Actually, the idea to bring a woman's point of view into the mix could be purely a matter of economics; women comprise a 43% share of the new car market in Britain, with similar ratios in the States. Add-in purchase influence and you're talking perhaps as high as 80% of the decision going to the skirts. That means this group - comprised of volunteers from within the Land Rover Company and representing all levels of expertise and experience - could have a profound affect on future Land Rover style and production values.
