Destination Defender 2023: Somerville, Texas to Host

Destination Defender, Land Rover's in-house celebration of all things Defender, is back in 2023. This year, the event heads to Somerville, Texas, conveniently located between Houston and Austin. The weekend promises off-roading, camping, music, workshops, food, and an evening celebration of the Defender Service Award winners.
The first Destination Defender was held in November 2022, in New York's Hudson Valley. Over a muddy weekend, hundreds of Defender lovers (old and new -- the event was a celebration of everything Defender) gathered to hit the trails, enjoy the Defender Lounge, and sample local food vendors who brought the best of upstate New York's lush food scene.
This year's venue in Texas promises to be just as much fun, with the same local flair. The exact destination hasn't been announced yet, but expect a lodge with luxurious accommodations, pools, trails for both hiking and off-roading, five stocked fishing ponds, and Texas hospitality. And of course, Texas is very much one of America's culinary capitals, which should be very much on show.
The culmination of the event is the announcement of the winners of the Defender Service Awards at a dinner on Saturday evening. For the third year, Land Rover is giving away six Defender 130s to worthy non-profit organizations across the United States and Canada. Nominations have now closed, but the public voting process will start soon.
Keep an eye on Land Rover's Destination Defender page and Roverlog for more details when ticket sales begin, and start practicing for November:
