Change out your old Discovery I, Defender or Range Rover O2 sensor with a high quality replacement part from Atlantic British!

This O2 sensor replacement (Part # AMR6244) has been designed specifically for use in Land Rover Discovery I 1997 – 1999, Range Rover 4.0 and 4.6 1997 – 1998 and Defender 90 1997 model vehicles. This means that our oxygen sensors come with the right molded connector to fit your vehicle – no need to splice old connectors to your new sensors like you would with cheaper O2 sensor replacements.

If you're suddenly noticing a drop in your fuel economy, the culprit could be your oxygen sensor. Often replaced at around 60k miles, this overlooked little device can reduce emissions, maximize fuel economy and boost engine performance.

The Rover models listed above require four (4) total oxygen sensors. Two of these sensors are mounted behind the Rover’s catalytic converter and two in front of it. The front O2 sensor or pre-cat sensor measures the oxygen levels of gases leaving the combustion chamber. The amount of fuel entering your engine is then adjusted based on the oxygen levels of your exhaust gas. The rear O2 sensor or post-cat sensors monitor the oxygen content of the exhaust gases leaving your Land Rover’s catalytic converter and confirms the proper operation of the cat. As an oxygen sensor ages, it becomes contaminated, and loses its ability to measure oxygen levels in exhaust gases. This typically results in a drop in fuel economy and a “check engine” light warning on your Rover’s dash.

It is important to replace all four of your Rover oxygen sensors at once. This ensures proper monitoring of your vehicle’s emissions systems, and helps keep track of when to replace sensors when they become old (at around 60k miles).
