It has been a long spring, and there was no better way to shake the spiders out of my sanity and my truck's transfer case shifter than a socially-distant off-road run with Land Rover friends. When the opportunity arose to have a fun, safe trail ride in Western Maryland with the Land Rover Owners of Maryland and Baltimore Rovers club groups, I decided it was time to break out of my rut, pack my variety of face coverings, and hit the trail.

The last weekend of April usually means that Land Rover owners in Northern California are gathering for the annual Mendo_Recce Joe Lucas Not-a-Rallye event. For twenty-five years, "Mendo" has brought together a dedicated coalition of Land Rover lovers from the Bay Area and Northern California, as well as members further afield who drive or fly long distances to attend. Of course, like everything else right now, Mendo XXVI was not held at the usual time due to COVID-19. In place of the traditional gathering, though, a "Virtual Mendo" online event unfolded over the course of the weekend, using technology to create a digital event.

The annual Winter Romp brought over 200 Land Rovers to Waterville and Benton, Maine this year, a new attendance record for one of the largest Rover events in America. One of them this year was a special visitor: Oxford, the Series I 86" from the First Overland expedition, beginning its 2020 Oxford in America Tour.

For Atlantic British, Overland Expo East prep starts months in advance. One of the first things we need to decide is what off-road accessories to bring, and how to set up the booth the best way to show what we brought. Oh, and we have to try and convince a few friends to come along to enjoy the event and help out.

The Ottawa Valley Land Rovers club met in Maberly, Ontario from June 21-23 for their 36th annual Birthday Party, a celebration of the club, its members, and its long history.

Northern California's Mendo_Recce email list, a long-standing Internet Land Rover community, held its 25th annual Joe Lucas Not-a-Rallye, making it one of the very few Land Rover events in North America to celebrate an event every year, without fail, for a quarter century.

The Rover Owners Association of Virginia (ROAV) held their annual Rovers at Wintergreen (RAW) event at the Wintergreen Resort.

The ROVERS Club held the Fall Robesonia Trials in Pennsylvania the weekend of October 24-26, 2018, continuing a long tradition of off-road trials events in Pennsylvania.

The Old North State Land Rover Society hosted URE! 15 in the Uwharrie National Forest in North Carolina, an annual autumn tradition, from October 19-21, 2018.

The Rover Owners Association of Virginia (ROAV) held the Mid-Atlantic Rally from October 4-7, 2018 in Pembroke, Virginia. An East Coast tradition since 1994, MAR combines trail riding, RTV trials, and camaraderie in the beautiful mountains of Southwest Virginia.

One of the oldest Land Rover events in the country, the Solihull Society's National Rally, was held for the 30th time from September 17-21, 2018 in Moab, Utah.

From September 13-16, 2018, Land Rovers took over Bear Valley, California for the second Western National Land Rover Rally. It was a weekend of off-roading, camping, good food, team challenges, and a raffle for one awesomely kitted-out 2004 Discovery Series II.

The 7th Annual Muddy Chef Challenge, held in Manchester, Vermont from July 26-29, 2018, was a lot more muddy and a lot less chef this year. The annual Land Rover-specific event of food and off-roading was interrupted by a monsoon, but it didn't keep the event from being a fun time.

Following on the heels of the extremely successful first event in 2015 in Sedona, Arizona, the second Western National Land Rover Rally will take place in the Sierra Nevadas in California from September 13-16, 2018. As part of the event, there will be a raffle for a 2004 Discovery, restored as a collaboration of Land Rover parts suppliers and repair shops -- including Atlantic British.

One of the oldest Land Rover clubs in North America held its 35^th annual Birthday Party rally at the end of June 2018. The Ottawa Valley Land Rovers club has held the event in Ontario since 1984, and this year’s celebration on June 22-24 continued a tradition of a fun event with a friendly, dedicated, cross-border crowd.
