The Range Rover SV Bespoke Ultimate Edition is here, and if it’s anything like the last time Land Rover bandied that word around, it’s also the swan song for the fourth generation Rangie.
The Range Rover SV Bespoke Ultimate Edition is here, and if it’s anything like the last time Land Rover bandied that word around, it’s also the swan song for the fourth generation Rangie.
With a fifth generation on the horizon and already frequently spotted road testing, it’s time to say farewell to the Range Rover that has defined 4x4 excellence for the last decade. Like they did with the L322 third generation model in 2012, the end of the L405 looks like it’ll be celebrated with an Ultimate Edition, taking every luxury and performance feature to the next degree.
There are two versions of the Ultimate: a long-wheelbase edition, and a Dynamic edition. Both feature the same luscious shade of satin-finished Orchard Green exterior, with a Narvik Black roof and Copper detailing. The standard interior is Vintage Tan, though in the SV tradition you can choose another interior color if you want. The green-on-tan is a return to classical Range Rover colorways, as green has been a relatively uncommon option in the L405 palette. It also brings to mind the Lincoln Green that was a choice on early 1970s Range Rovers.
The long-wheelbase edition is focused on backseat comfort and features reclining armchairs (“Executive Class Comfort-Plus,” which is a phrase you normally hear describe a premium airliner cabin), with 46 inches of legroom. If you want to spend even more, you can get luxurious Italian Poltrona Frau leather seating.
There’s also a Dynamic version, which is more driver-focused. This one comes with a slightly lower suspension – about a third of an inch – and Dynamic Response anti-roll technology.
Both models come with special accent trim, special badging, and of course, the powerful 557-horsepower supercharged AJ-V8 motor.
Getting your hands on a Range Rover Ultimate Edition won’t be cheap. The Dynamic starts at $187,900, and the LWB is $218,500. But if you really want one, be sure to hurry to get in touch with your Land Rover dealer – they’ll likely sell out quickly.
