Can we call it the LRXL?
Interest is high as many wait to see Land Rover's 'cross-coupe' vehicle concept, the LRX, debut at the Detroit Auto Show next month.
The LRX is Land Rover's entry into the 'green' segment featuring design and construction with recycled and lightweight materials and the latest diesel/electric hybrid engine with the latest technology to slash C02 emissions and return 40mpg when it goes on sale in 2010... Not to mention the impressive styling and user interface technology described in the concept... iPhone Dock Station with touchscreen vehicle starting, etc... More on that in our LRX Article.
Now... The next potential concept coming from what Land Rover calls its 'Land Rover E' line looks like an LRX... But it also looks like an LR3 / Discovery 3.
The concept drawing above was leaked to the UK Sun today by Land Rover’s Advanced Design Studio and has been speculated to be the next, larger vehicle concept that may replace LR3 / Discovery 3... Beyond the drawing, not much more is know... but stay tuned... as we hear more, we'll let you know!
Strangely, this concept rendering draws a much more 'finished' resemblance to the vehicle shell drawing released in March 2006 as part of 'Land_e' technology design approach for new vehicles.
Perhaps this new vehicle is much further along in development than one might think? We'll see...
