About a year ago, Land Rover canceled their planned Range Rover SVAutobiography Coupe, a pricey homage to the original two-door Range Rover. Soon after, London coachbuilder Niels van Roij announced he would create 100 custom-built coupes out of four-door Range Rovers for deep-pocketed customers. The first of these Adventum Coupes has just rolled off the line for a customer.
The vehicle is clearly a Range Rover and generally looks like the original lines for the two-door penned by Gerry McGovern and company. However, the only panels to come from the donor Range Rover unmodified are the bonnet, upper and lower tailgates, and front wings. The Range Rover’s window frames are retained, but the fake vents in the doors aren’t – perhaps to the relief of those who agreed with Jeremy Clarkson’s view upon the Mark IV Range Rover’s launch that they were vain and useless compared to the functional vents in the prior generation.

The Adventum Coupe includes a teak floor pan, complete with white caulking, making the interior of the Range Rover feel more like the promenade deck of the QE2 than the usual plush carpeted interior. The teak extends to the cargo area, with a special nesting leaf covering the tailgate. The trunk also includes two custom hand-stitched black-and-red umbrellas, using the same red leather featured on the interior of the vehicle. There are also dual door handles, one for the front passenger and one for the rear, in the line of the original two-door Range Rovers.
The Adventum features the supercharged 525-horsepower V8 from the Range Rover P525, as opposed to the more powerful motor planned for the original SV Autobiography Coupe.
If you want an Adventum Coupe, it’ll cost you a minimum of € 270,000, with a deposit of € 50,000. That can go up quickly as you kit out your bespoke Range Rover more and more. If you are interested in purchasing one, you can contact Niels van Roij on their website. But hurry, because they’re only going to make 100 of these totally-custom Rangies.
