The finalists have been announced for the fourth Defender Service Awards, with voting underway to choose which non-profits will take home a Defender 130 custom-built for their needs. The five categories this year are Veteran and Civil Servant Outreach, Community Services, Search, Rescue and Emergency Support Services, Outdoor Accessibility and Education, and Animal, Wildlife and Marine Welfare. A sixth vehicle will go to a second-chance award for unsuccessful finalists from the 2021-2023 awards programs.
Voting will take place between October 2nd and October 17th. The winners will be announced at Destination Defender, the annual celebration of Land Rover lifestyle. This year the event is in Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, California. The winners will be announced at a banquet on Saturday night.
Each winner will take home a Defender 130, custom built for the needs of their organization. They'll also take home $25,000 donated by their category sponsor. Chase, the presenting sponsor, will donate $5,000 to each of the five category finalists, a total of $150,000 across 30 finalists.
