Our front Freelander O2 sensors (Part # MHK500860) have been designed for use in Land Rover Freelander 2005 model vehicles. You can be assured this high quality O2 sensor will fit your Rover when you purchase from Atlantic British without the need for any reworking or splicing often required of lesser sensors.
New oxygen sensors can maximize fuel economy, reduce emissions, and boost engine performance. With gas prices skyrocketing, you can’t afford to drive around with old O2 sensors!
Freelander 2005 models require four (4) oxygen sensors. Two of these sensors are mounted behind the Land Rover’s catalytic converter and two in front of it. The front O2 sensor or pre-cat sensor measures the oxygen levels of gases leaving the combustion chamber. The amount of fuel entering your engine is then adjusted based on the oxygen levels of your exhaust gas. As an oxygen sensor ages, it becomes contaminated, reducing its ability to read and react to your vehicle’s O2/gas mixture. A sudden drop in fuel economy and a “check engine light” are common symptoms of a failed O2 sensor.
We recommend replacing Freelander oxygen sensors every 60k miles. O2 sensors should be bought in pairs; two front sensors and two rear sensors.
