Land Rover released a short video this week detailing the history of the Range Rover. The quick tutorial covers all of the major turning points in the models in the life of Land Rover’s flagship model.
The vid starts out with the test prototype models that were badged “Velar” instead of Range Rover to conceal their true identity, to first four door models, the US versions in the late 80’s, the P38 series in the late 90’s, and then the most recent two late model versions and finally, the very latest SV Autobiography model that costs almost as much as I owe on my house!
I’m reminded of the old adage, “You can always live in your car, but you can’t drive your house.” That’s true, unless you live on a boat. Of course the boat will inevitably need to be towed somewhere. I can’t recall where, but I read once that Land Rovers make pretty good tow vehicles. Especially the new ones.
