While vehicle sales slipped 1.7% for GM, 12.6% for Ford and 3.8% for DaimlerChrysler (Spring 2002 to Spring 2001 comparison), sales for Land Rover increased 36.6%!
While vehicle sales slipped 1.7% for GM, 12.6% for Ford and 3.8% for DaimlerChrysler (Spring 2002 to Spring 2001 comparison), sales for Land Rover increased 36.6%!
Volvo dropped 19.1%, and the automaker's Ford, Lincoln and Mercury cars were off 12.7%. Criminy! Even their light truck sales were down 12.5%! The only other bright spot for Ford was Jaguar, with sales up a whopping 86.9% -- of course, they really had nowhere else to go but up.
So...taking a look at the big picture, one would be forced to assume that there is big money in big image, and no image shines brighter in the SUV world that Land Rover. And you can take that to the bank!
