As part of its Display at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show, JLR unveiled its creations that will be appearing in the new James Bond adventure film, “SPECTRE.”
The custom-built Bond vehicles, a Range Rover Sport SVR, a Land Rover Defender and a Jaguar C-X75, were revealed to the public September 15th in special event at Frankfurt’s Thurn und Taxis Palace.
Stars of the film Naomie Harris (Moneypenny) and David Bautista (Hinx) were the guests of honor at the event, and music was provided by British top ten artist John Newman.
SPECTRE, the 24th James Bond film, features heavily modified Defenders and the most powerful Land Rover ever, the Range Rover Sport SVR, appearing in action sequences shot in Austria. The Defenders, built by JLR’s Special Operations division, feature 37-inch diameter off-road tires and beefed-up body protection in order to handle the rough, snow-encrusted mountain roads and paths used for filming what looks like some incredible footage.
The Jaguar C-X75 supercar, is featured in an over-the-top chase scene though the moonlit streets of Rome. The C-X75 has been called the most advanced Jaguar ever created. All the vehicles were of course provided by Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations (SVO).
Says Naomie Harris, who returns in her role of Moneypenny in SPECTRE, “I made my Bond debut in the Defender, and I’m thrilled to be here in Frankfurt with the Jaguar Land Rover team”.
Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations, John Edwards, said: "For Jaguar Land Rover to once again be a part of the iconic vehicle line ups in one of the most celebrated film franchises in the world represents a proud moment for us. It’s an incredible opportunity to showcase production and concept cars alike and we look forward to continuing this relationship well into the future.”
