The Old North State Land Rover Society hosted URE! 15 in the Uwharrie National Forest in North Carolina, an annual autumn tradition, from October 19-21, 2018.
URE! stands for Uwharrie Rover Expedition, which just so happens to make a great acronym for the location. The family-friendly event is pretty low-key, based at the Badin Lake Campground in the forest, with a huge network of trails of all difficulties to explore.
This year, the weather added a bit of an extra element to the event, with some rain on Saturday to create some slippery conditions, letting up in time for the group dinner that evening.
URE! is also known for its impressive event logos and posters, some of the most creative and well-designed of any Land Rover event. This year's art was designed by Jenna, the daughter of long-time ONSLRS members Jason and Cyndi. It's an awesome image of a yellow Series III in a forest at night and was proudly displayed on t-shirts, posters, and metal signs.
Next year's URE!, the 16th Annual event, is scheduled already for October 18-20, 2019 at the same location. Check out onslrs.org or the Old North State Land Rover Society Facebook page for more.
