The process is easy to do. Remove the electronics from your old key fob and install it into the new shell case. The swap means you won't have to program a new key for your D2!
Please Note: The blank key is not removable. You will have to bring it to a key cutter or a Land Rover dealership to have the blank key cut to your old key.

This couldn't have worked better. Real easy to swap the electronics. Then the metal part swaps over too with a lot of wiggling and pulling. Then it went right into the new key fob, it was tight and hard to get back in but that also means it isn't loose at all now. And no need to go to a key smith......

This was the second replacement cover for my 2003 Disco II. The first was sketchy, requiring that remove the key from the old fob and insert it into the new cover...it never felt real secure and after a few years, the buttons in the cover wore out to that I couldn't even use the remote anymore. This cover from Atlantic British is great. The cover is much better quality and the feel of the buttons is much more solid and secure. Addtionally, the key blank is built into the cover, so it's much more sturdy than the previous model I used. My local hardware store was able to cut the new key for around $2 and it works great.

My old keys had buttons falling out (and lost) and the keys didn't fit well in the fob. These keys worked perfectly, electronics swapped very easily, though I did have to make several attempts to get the keys cut. None of the 3 hardware stores I tried could do it - they all use computers to cut and they don't recognize the key. I called my local LR mechanic and he gave me the number of a locksmith who charged me $75 a key. It took him 5 minutes for each one. lol. Nice work if you can get it.
