The new look and size of the '04 Disco's roof rails are big, bold... and impossible to attach a crossbar to. It seems Land Rover has realized this as well, and now offers an equally big and bold crossbar attachment that enables you to actually use your roof rails by attaching baskets, ski racks, etc. and keeping it all from directly contacting your roof. If you ever plan on using your roof for carrying capacity, you need these crossbars.
