They threw in a racing grade V8, re-fit the suspension and wheels and basically made the Defender so bad-ass it was no longer street legal. But boy, was it fast!
Now a company called Qt has bought the rights to produce the Wildcat, only they want to make it street legal, so the rest of us can have a bit of fun, too.
Qt’s version will be powered by a 4.0 liter Rover V8 which delivers a 0 to 60 mph time of 5.8 seconds, and it comes with the same sort of chassis and suspension as the racing model, with heavy duty differentials and drive-shafts and racing seats with 5-point harness. Plus, it will come with all of the street luxuries we’d expect today, like air conditioning, bluetooth, iPod dock and a high-end sound system.
There was another Bowler called the Nemesis which was based on the Range Rover Sport. Wonder if Qt is thinking of retooling that one as well?
