Yes, this is a Land Rover; one of 31 Forward Control adaptations built for the 1995 film Judge Dredd. (31 seems little over the top to me but hey, this is Hollywood.) This and others – like the lovely Lara Croft’s Land Rover from 2001’s Tomb Raider – will be on display at Stoneleigh Park in England this August 28-30.
Some Land Rovers that appeared in movies aren’t quite so famous, such as those from The Ipcress File, The Italian Job (recognized more for its MINIs), and Get Carter. Then there’s Buster, a 1986 110 owned by Top Gear presenter and Land Rover fanatic Richard Hammond. Buster began as a 3.5 liter V8 and now is powered by a heavy-duty 4.5 liter V8 with an ear-blasting sound system.
He said: "It cost more than a new Range Rover and is more expensive to run than a Ferrari Enzo but I always drive it with a big grin on my face."
If you're just such a fan, well, you know where to find the action August 28-30!
