Have you seen (or used) an Apple iAd? This latest advertising service from Apple allows companies to advertise to their consumer base by placing rich, interactive advertisements in select iPhone and iPad apps. Land Rover has made great use of this new technology with a highly sophisticated advertisement for the Range Rover Evoque.
Land Rover’s iAd for the Evoque offers audiences a unique introduction to the vehicle, providing useful information but also allowing users to engage directly with the Evoque by selecting color, trim and other vehicle options. Most impressive of all, the iAd gives potential customers a 360-degree, CGI interior view that can be explored by moving and manipulating the mobile device.
The iAd has been slow to catch on, but Land Rover sees tremendous value in this innovative mobile advertising opportunity. The ability to select which apps to advertise with allows the Land Rover to focus on their target demographic. What’s more, the interactive nature of the iAd has consumers spending more time engaging with the brand than they would watching a 30-second commercial.
“I think there is a difference between someone sitting on their couch, absorbing that 30-second television ad, and someone perhaps sitting on that couch but actually engaged in their iPhone and their iPad. You’re involved in that experience,” said Ken Bracht, Communications Director, Land Rover America.
