Land Rover has a lot to be happy about, as glowing reviews of their new Evoque continue to hit the newswire. The latest? The Range Rover Evoque was anointed Car of the Year by Auto Express magazine, the largest-selling automobile magazine in the UK.
The Evoque, which also received Auto Express honors as the Best Crossover, has been lauded with praise since its debut at the Paris Motor Show last year. With drastic styling changes and a focus on luxury, the “Baby Range” appeals to a whole new demographic of customers. Those looking for refined luxury from the Land Rover brand now have an option in the Evoque that is smaller than the LR4, less expensive than the Range Rover, and more luxurious than the LR2.
“To take the Auto Express Car of the Year prize, a model needs to break the mould – and the Range Rover Evoque does exactly that. For a prestige off-road brand to launch a tarmac-focused machine aimed at coupé and saloon car buyers is a brave move, but the British manufacturer has pulled if off. And then some." - Auto Express Acting Editor, Graham Hope
The groundbreaking Evoque appeals to a whole new market and points to the direction Land Rover looks to take the brand. Land Rover traditionalists need not fear. The rugged, all-purpose LR4 also received top honors from Auto Express as the Best Large SUV, making this the 7th straight year the Discovery line of SUVs has taken the award. The full-sized Range Rover was listed as a runner-up in the Best Large SUV category, as well.
