Recent spy shot photographs reveal the interior of Land Rover’s new Discovery Sport interior and it looks pretty sharp. Land Rover continues to place a premium on luxury, which is made evident by these images from the new Discovery Sport.
The Discovery Sport was recently seen testing at Germany’s famous Nurburgring, with an official debut scheduled for later this year at the 2014 Paris Auto Show in October. Land Rover plans to have the Discovery Sport replace the LR2 in its lineup, providing a less-expensive utility vehicle that takes advantage of new technologies. As an added benefit, the Discovery Sport will borrow the Range Rover Evoque platform, improving economies of scale and profitability for Jaguar Land Rover. The vehicle will also borrow the turbocharged 2.0 liter four-cylinder found in the Evoque which will provide strong performance while also offering respectable fuel economy.
The Discovery Sport should hit showrooms in 2015 as a 2016 model and will offer seating for five (though plans for a seven-seater have been discussed).
