Land Rover has developed some pretty creative advertising and commercials in its day, but their latest effort might be the most unique. The most recent ad features a group of “parkour” athletes running and jumping through the countryside, encouraging consumers to “roam free,” and attitude that aligns perfectly with the automotive brand.
For those not familiar with the term parkour, a quick viewing of this video should help to clarify. The term is used to describe improvisational acrobatics; athletes who use their surroundings as platforms for a variety of jumps, twists and flips. The video is visually stunning and quite impressive from a standpoint of human athleticism. Set to the tune of Bach, the ad focuses all of its attention on the athletes; there is not a single Land Rover in the bit. The advertisement concludes with a Land Rover emblem and the words “roam free,” urging viewers to partake in the freedom of exploration displayed by the parkour athletes in the video.
