Brazilian government officials recently announced that Jaguar Land Rover will be investing 437 million dollars in a new manufacturing plant to be located in the city of Itatiaia.
According to anonymous government sources, JLR has scheduled an official announcement for December 3rd, with new vehicle production anticipated to begin by 2015. The new plant should bring between 500 and 700 new jobs to the area, while providing Jaguar Land Rover with a strategic position in one of the world’s fastest growing markets.
The Brazilian plant will represent JLR’s third investment in manufacturing plants in burgeoning markets, following the development of their assembly plants in both India and China.
