We first reported on the Land Rover Defender XTech Special Edition in January of 2011 when the vehicle was first receiving press following its debut at the Brussels Auto Show. The XTech is once again making headlines due to an imminent launch date; the vehicle will be ready for sale in the U.K. this month.
The Defender XTech has an undeniably rugged look, accentuated by the utilitarian paint selection that matches either Orkney Grey or Nara Bronze with Santorini Black roof and trim. 16-inch black allow wheels with 235/85 Goodyear Wrangler tires help convey the XTech’s utilitarian intentions, absolving any doubt that this vehicle might not be trail ready. The Defender XTech Special Edition uses a 2.2 liter diesel engine matched to a 6-speed manual transmission.
The XTech will be sold at a starting price of $43,445 and comes in both Defender 90 and 110 wheelbase models. Two door and four door options available.
