Land Rover Announces Evoque Pricing

Jaguar Land Rover announced pricing for the new Range Rover Evoque, which it believes will become the automaker's most popular model.

The entry-level Evoque will retail at 27,995 pounds (around $45,000) a markedly higher price point than the Freelander 2, currently Land Rover’s most popular model.

The base Evoque model- the Pure- comes with five doors, a 6-speed manual transmission with a 148bhp 2.2-liter diesel engine, and two-wheel drive. The absence of four-wheel drive on a $45,000 Range Rover is curious, and perhaps indicative of Rover’s push to brand the Evoque as a hip, urban transporter. Despite the lack of four-wheel drive, the entry-level Evoque will come standard with heated leather seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth and an 8-inch touch screen monitor.

In addition to the Pure, Range Rover will feature two premium Evoque models; the Prestige and the Dynamic. As the names may suggest, the Prestige comes equipped with a plethora of luxury features, while the Dynamic is designed for the driving enthusiast with 20-inch wheels and an optional 240bhp turbo (petrol) engine. Models will be available in three and five door body styles.

The Pure model may be upgraded with an optional equipment packaged, the Tech pack. The Prestige and Dynamic models offer their own equipment package-the LUX pack. The Evoque Dynamic matched with the LUX Pack is the highest priced Evoque at over $70,000 (more than a Range Rover Sport HSE).
