The former Director of Audi UK, Jeremy Hicks, has been named Jaguar Land Rover’s new Managing Director of Operations in the UK, effective immediately.
Hick’s appointment will find previous Land Rover UK Managing Director Colin Green assigned as Global Dealer Operations Director, and Jaguar Managing Director Geoff Cousins repositioned as Jaguar Global Sponsorships & Partnerships Director. News of the Jaguar Land Rover management shift arrives just a few weeks after former CEO Carl-Peter Forster resigned from his position as Chief Executive Officer.
Jaguar Land Rover made the following statement about the hiring of Jeremy Hicks:
“Jeremy’s appointment brings the UK organization in line with other global markets and brings each region under the leadership of a single, dual brand, Managing Director.”
The change at the top is a significant one. The incumbent Managing Directors were demoted in favor of a singular, “dual brand Managing Director.” It’s too early to speculate how the consolidated management will move forward with Jaguar and Land Rover, though it seems that two brands so deeply entrenched within their respective cultures would be difficult to market and manage as a single branded entity.
Who knows? Perhaps the emblem revealed at the Frankfurt Auto Show offers a glimpse at the early stages of unified Jaguar Land Rover branding strategy, which suddenly seems a whole lot more plausible.
