Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) North America has just announced a recall of 856 Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles. The recall addresses a defect in the latch for the second row seats on 2015 model year vehicles, manufactured during a short period from June 2, 2015, to June 11, 2015.
The seat back may not properly latch, particularly in the center section. If the seat is not correctly latched, the seat belt may fail to restrain the seat occupant in the event of a crash.
Land Rover says they will notify the owners of affected vehicles. Dealers will inspect the mechanisms, and replace them as required. Of course, all repairs will be done free of charge. The recall campaign is expected to start in mid-November of 2015.
Owners of recalled Range Rovers may call Land Rover's customer service at 1-800-637-6837. The JLR number for this recall is P072.
