Two big North American Land Rover events of note will occur this summer, for those who are interested in meeting like-minded enthusiasts and owners, or who would like to take their vehicle off-roading. Trails usually cover a variety of terrain with a choice of difficulty level. Most events of this type offer camping for those who prefer it, and lodging options for those who prefer fresh sheets and a private bath before hitting the trails.
June 23rd - 25th, there is the Ottawa Valley Land Rover Club Annual Birthday Party event. Established in 1984, this year marks the 33rd OVLR Birthday Party!
“The Birthday party is being organized and hosted by the oldest and largest Land Rover club in Canada, Ottawa Valley Land Rovers. The event is held near Silver Lake, Ontario, because of the geographical location being central to the bulk of OVLR regional members as well as having some diverse terrain upon which to host the event, (bedrock, cedars swamp, and mud). Silver Lake is located about sixty miles west of Ottawa on Highway 7. People with an interest in Land Rovers will be coming from Quebec and Ontario and the northeastern United States to participate in activities and share ideas, experiences and yarns. The event is open to all Land Rover Products - Land Rover, Range Rovers and Discoveries. Register here if you would like to attend.
July 24th - 28th, there is The Solihull Society’s Land Rover National Rally in Leadville, Colorado. The Solihull Society is one the oldest Land Rover clubs in the US, and they have been hosting this event for decades. They usually alternate between Utah and Colorado for the event, and always seem to offer a great network of breathtaking and scenic trails and plenty of other activities.
