In preparation for the official launch of their Evoque convertible, Land Rover has taken its newest vehicle through a series of rigorous off road tests to ensure that its handling is on a par with the standard that the luxury SUV brand is known for.
After the release of publicity photos showing wire frame sculptures of the Evoque rag tops posed in front of iconic London locations, Land Rover have now released video of some of the off road tests to demonstrate that its newest product “will be the most capable convertible in the world.”
The video shows the first-of-its-kind luxury compact SUV convertible undergoing testing at Eastnor Castle, Land Rover's legendary estate in Herefordshire, UK.
Mike Cross, Land Rover Chief Engineer, Vehicle Integrity, said: "Land Rover prides itself on being a class leader when it comes to all-terrain capability and the Evoque Convertible is no different”
Land Rover confirmed plans to build the convertible Range Rover Evoque earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show. With its development program now complete, the Evoque Convertible, like all other Range Rovers over the last 45 years, is undergoing final sign-off at the famous Eastnor Castle Estate.
Ultimately, the newest Range Rover offering will debut at the Los Angeles International Auto Show, in November of this year, and go on sale starting in Spring 2016.
