Skyfall features the Defender prominently in its opening scene, and also gives plenty of screen time to the Range Rover and a Jaguar XJ as the film progresses. The presence of Land Rovers and Jaguars in James Bond movies is a tradition that spans across the entire 50 years of the franchise. Previous “motorized” stars include the Range Rover Classic, Land Rover Series II and III, Range Rover P38, and more recently, the Range Rover Sport HSE.
Jaguar Land Rover supplied 77 total vehicles to the Skyfall film makers for production, seizing a golden opportunity for product placement and promotion. Said co-producer Andrew Nokes, “Bond is quintessentially British, and Jaguar and Land Rover are two of the most established and globally recognized British brands, so it was a natural step for us to involve them in the film.”
