Off Road 4 Kids

Date: Aug 21-23, 2009
Organization: Hoosick Falls Youth and Community Center
Contact: Carlane Riston
Registration IS MANDATORY and is first come first serve until we reach the max of 100 trucks. This should be a fun laid back event. We have a campground working with us. This is the basic info the rest can be found at www.offroad4kids.com ------------------------------------------------ Offroad4kids is an event designed to directly benefit the youth of the MentorWorks program. 100% of the money raised will be used for monthly events, field trips and weekly activities. MentorWorks is a program that is helping the youth of Hoosick Falls, New York develop their talents and potential through one-on-one partnerships with caring adults. Research has shown that caring adults can improve a child's chance for: academic success, increased self-esteem, and avoidance of risky behaviors. Many of the youth have a desperate need for positive adult role models. The number of single-parent homes and two-parent working families has increased dramatically and support networks are needed to support them in the busyness of their daily lives. Mentors provide friendship and encouragement to young people from all types of homes and all social and economic levels. They help youth develop their strengths and talents and reinforce the positive efforts made by other significant adults in their lives. By supporting them during times of personal and social stress, and providing guidance for decision-making, mentors help children and youth become responsible men and women. On the weekend of August 21st - 23rd we will be offroading in and around scenic Bennington and Arlington, VT. We have three levels of trails organized: One for stock or slightly modified vehicles or first timers; another, for vehicles with lift, larger than stock tires and drivers with some experience; and the third will be for those looking for the ultimate experience, willing to let go of their affection for sheet metal and sacrifice parts to the trail. Your registration fee of $40 covers your vehicle registration, trail guides and a Saturday afternoon Barbecue at the Hoosick Falls Youth and Community Center. Your weekend of offroading fun will help to sustain this worthwhile program. If you are unable to attend but interested in supporting the program please write that on the registration form when you mail in your check. See Ya in August Eric and Carlane
