INSTRUCTIONS

Warn Winch – Electric/2 way
(Part# 9449/9489/9402ARBD8/9402ARBD9)

DO NOT WELD THE HEAD OF ANY BOLT OR CAP SCREW used for attaching the winch mounting kit or bumper kit. Metallurgical changes, after welding, can occur and cause the fasteners to become brittle and bread, even under no-load conditions. This could result in personal injury or property damage.

Solenoid Pack Installation

The solenoid pack should be mounted in a convenient location close to the winch motor using the two bolts protruding from the back plate. On vehicle mounting kits, use the supplied solenoid bracket. NOTE! THE SOLENOID PACK MUST BE GROUNDED TO CHASSIS GROUND IN ORDER TO OPERATE.

Electrical Connections

After mounting winch on bumper or custom mounting:
Connect the 72 inch red cable to the positive terminal of the battery.
Connect the 72 inch black cable to the ground screw on the motor and the negative terminal of the battery.
Before initial use of your winch, plug in the remote control and test for proper forward and reverse operation, keeping hands free of wire rope.
KEEP HANDS AWAY FROM WIRE ROPE AND HOOK WHILE TESTING.
NOTE: A fully charged “Deep Cycle” battery in the 90 amp/hour rating range (550-625 cold cranking amps) is required to obtain full performance from your winch.
